Areas we serve
Dentist in Craigie
A family practice a short drive inland from Craigie, where you get the cost of the work in writing before any of it starts.
The thing people dread about the dentist is not usually the chair. It is the invoice at the end that bears no relation to anything discussed at the start, arriving after the treatment is already done and cannot be undone.
That is a scheduling problem rather than a pricing one, and it is solvable. You get a written plan with a cost against each item before treatment begins, along with what your fund is likely to cover and what the gap will be.
If a plan runs to more than you want to take on at once, we put it in order instead: what needs doing now, what would be reasonable to leave for a year, and what is simply being kept an eye on. Nothing on that list begins without you saying so.

There is no version of dentistry where an estimate is impossible. There is only a version where nobody writes it down, and that is the version people have learned to expect.

Questions we get from Craigie
- Will I know what it costs before you start?
- Yes. After the examination you get a written plan with a cost against each item, and the rebate your fund is likely to pay. Nothing starts until you have seen it and said yes.
- What if I cannot do all of it at once?
- Then we put it in order. Most treatment plans have one or two items that genuinely should not wait and several that reasonably can. We will tell you which is which rather than presenting it as one number to accept or refuse.
- How much will my health fund cover?
- It depends on your fund and your level of cover. Bring the card and HICAPS shows the rebate at the counter, so you pay the gap rather than claiming it back afterwards.
- Will you put the quote in writing?
- Yes, itemised, with the item numbers, before anything starts. That is what your fund needs to quote you a rebate, and it is what stops a treatment plan turning into a surprise at the desk.
- What happens if something turns out to cost more once you start?
- We stop and tell you before doing it, not afterwards. Occasionally a tooth is worse underneath than the X-ray suggested — a filling that turns out to need a crown, for instance — and the right response to that is a conversation, not an invoice you did not expect.
- Can I pay for a treatment plan across more than one visit?
- Treatment is charged as it is done, so a plan spread over several appointments is paid over those appointments rather than up front. Where work is not urgent we will often suggest an order that puts the pressing part now and the rest after your extras limit resets, and we will tell you honestly which items fall into which category.
